“We noticed your app requests to track user data”

§ 01What Apple’s wording tells you

App Review
Guideline 5.1.1 - Privacy We noticed your app requests to track user data or includes a tracking-related purpose string, but does not use the App Tracking Transparency framework, or requests data that is not required for the stated features.

§ 02Common causes

  • An ad or analytics SDK that requests IDFA without ATT.
  • A purpose string for tracking, photos, or contacts that the binary never uses.
  • Privacy labels that do not match the SDK list.

§ 03What to inspect in your project

  • Info.plist purpose keys vs. actual API calls
  • ATT prompt before any tracking
  • Privacy Manifests of third-party SDKs

Hello App Review,

We removed unused permission strings and confirmed every remaining purpose string maps to a user-visible feature: [list].

If a reviewer path still triggers tracking, it now shows the system ATT prompt first. App Privacy answers were updated to match the binary.

Thank you.

§ 05Should you appeal?

Not a first-line appeal. Fix the plist and the SDK timing, then resubmit.
